Principal Investment Strategy

Under normal circumstances, the Trust will invest at least 80% of the value of its assets in the telecommunication services companies. Companies in the telecommunications sector have demonstrated several favorable industry dynamics. First, industry maturity and consolidation activity have resulted in only a handful of large established firms that compete for a given market. Second, there has been an increased demand for high bandwidth (both fixed line and cellular) telecommunications services due to the growth in applications that require them. Consequently, telecommunication services companies play a valuable role to a variety of previously unrelated businesses (such news and streaming entertainment). The Sponsor believes that the combination of good cash flow characteristics and the growth in data usage may provide telecommunications companies an opportunity for dividend income as well as growth.

The Sponsor, with the assistance of Guggenheim Partners Investment Management, LLC (“GPIM”), an affiliate of Guggenheim Partners, LLC, has selected the securities to be included in the Trust’s portfolio. The Sponsor and GPIM believe that companies that distribute significant dividends on a consistent basis generally demonstrate strong financial strength and positive performance relative to their peers.

Selection Criteria

The Sponsor selects securities for the portfolio that it believes possess the potential to achieve the Trust’s investment objective. The securities of the Trust’s portfolio are selected by using the following methodology:

Begin with an initial universe composed of names and weights from the Russell Global Utilities: Telecommunications Index. If a company has multiple classes of equity securities in the universe, then remove all but the most liquid class. If a security has a U.S.-traded American Depository Receipt (“ADR”) available with at least $0.5 million in median 90-day trading volume, then replace the foreign security with its ADR equivalent.

The Sponsor then excludes securities that do not have a market capitalization of at least $500 million and that do not have at least $0.5 million in median 90-day trading volume. The Trust may invest in the securities of small-, mid- and large-capitalization companies.

The Sponsor then reduces the universe by selecting companies, which may be primarily based on, but not limited to, the following factors:

• Valuations
• Profitability
• Leverage
• Momentum
• Volatility
• Dividend yield

Each security selected for the final portfolio will have a minimum weight of approximately 2% of the portfolio and a maximum weight of approximately 7.5% of the portfolio as of the security selection date.

Consistent with the design of the family of U.S. Russell Indexes, it represents 98% of the global equity market. A broad spectrum of sub-indexes are also published based on country, region, sector and capitalization size covering over 10,000 securities in 47 countries.

Risks and Other Considerations

As with all investments, you may lose some or all of your investment in the Trust. No assurance can be given that the Trust’s investment objective will be achieved. The Trust also might not perform as well as you expect. This can happen for reasons such as these:

• Securities prices can be volatile. The value of your investment may fall over time. Market value fluctuates in response to various factors. These can include stock market movements, purchases or sales of securities by the Trust, government policies, litigation, and changes in interest rates, inflation, the financial condition of the securities’ issuer or even perceptions of the issuer. Units of the Trust are not deposits of any bank and are not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other government agency.

• Due to the current state of the economy, the value of the securities held by the Trust may be subject to steep declines or increased volatility due to changes in performance or perception of the issuers. Starting in December 2007, economic activity declined across all sectors of the economy, and most countries experienced increased unemployment. The economic crisis affected the global economy with European and Asian markets also suffering historic losses. In addition, Standard & Poor’s Rating Services lowered its long-term sovereign credit rating on the United States to “AA+” from “AAA.” Effects of the economic crisis can still be felt in many countries around the world and may have an impact on the securities held by the Trust.

• Share prices or dividend rates on the securities in the Trust may decline during the life of the Trust. There is no guarantee that share prices of securities in the Trust will not decline and that the issuers of the securities will declare dividends in the future and, if declared, whether they will remain at current levels or increase over time.

• The Trust invests in securities of telecommunications services companies. General risks of investing in telecommunications services companies include rapidly changing technology, rapid product obsolescence or loss of patent protection, cyclical market patterns, evolving industry standards and frequent new product introductions. Competitive pressures are intense and stocks of telecommunications services companies can experience rapid volatility.

• The Trust invests in foreign securities and ADRs. The Trust’s investment in foreign securities and ADRs presents additional risk. ADRs are issued by a bank or Trust company to evidence ownership of underlying securities issued by foreign corporations. Securities of foreign issuers present risks beyond those of domestic securities. More specifically, foreign risk is the risk that foreign securities will be more volatile than U.S. securities due to such factors as adverse economic, currency, political, social or regulatory developments in a country, including government seizure of assets, excessive taxation, limitations on the use or transfer of assets, the lack of liquidity or regulatory controls with respect to certain industries or differing legal and/or accounting standards.

• The Trust includes securities issued by companies headquartered in countries considered to be emerging markets. The performance of the securities included in the Trust may be dependent, in part, on the growth or decline of emerging market countries. Emerging markets are generally defined as countries with low per capita income in the initial stages of their industrialization cycles. Risks of investing in developing or emerging countries include the possibility of investment and trading limitations, liquidity concerns, delays and disruptions in settlement transactions, political uncertainties and dependence on international trade and development assistance. Companies headquartered in emerging market countries may be exposed to greater volatility and market risk. In addition, the economies of emerging market countries may be extremely volatile and subject to increased risks.

• The Trust includes securities whose value may be dependent on currency exchange rates. The U.S. dollar value of these securities may vary with fluctuations in foreign exchange rates. Most foreign currencies have fluctuated widely in value against the U.S. dollar for various economic and political reasons such as the activity level of large international commercial banks, various central banks, speculators, hedge funds and other buyers and sellers of foreign currencies.

• The Trust invests in securities issued by mid-capitalization companies. These securities customarily involve more investment risk than securities of large-capitalization companies. Mid-capitalization companies may have limited product lines, markets or financial resources and may be more vulnerable to adverse general market or economic developments.

• Inflation may lead to a decrease in the value of assets or income from investments.

• The Sponsor does not actively manage the portfolio. The Trust will generally hold, and may, when creating additional units, continue to buy, the same securities even though a security’s outlook, market value or yield may have changed.
